We have been delighted to have welcomed some fantastic new starters to the Truro School Community for this Academic Year; Mark Aston, Bethan Carr, Rober Blackie, Lizzie Crane, Corrie Davies, Chris Dove, Abby Flowers, Henry Goldsmith, Anna Ireland, Alicia Jeffries-Jones, Zoe Levin, Danielle Overend, Megan Pomery, Annie-May Roberts, Rory Stableforth and Peter Truin.
Here, we get to know a few of them and learn more about their hobbies and interests!
Name: Robert Blackie
Previous School: Kingham Hill School (North Oxfordshire)
Hobbies and interests: Sports (hockey, running, cycling, cricket (anything really)), cooking (especially homemade pizza), hill walking and exploring with my wife and our dog.
What you already love about Truro School: Spending Thursday evenings in Trennick.

Previous School: St Agnes ACE Academy
Hobbies and interests: snorkelling, Kayaking, Paddleboarding, wildlife and rock pooling!
What you already love about Truro School: Amazing Forest School facilities and mini-beasts to run around in them!

Hobbies and interests: caring for our animals, music, food, friends and sea swimming
What you already love about Truro School: Everything; I want to enrol as a student and re-live my school days!

What you already love about Truro School: The student’s enthusiasm for chemistry!

Hobbies and interests: Sports (I am particularly interested in disability sports) and walking/playing with my dog bumble who is also the school dog.
What you already love about Truro School: The thing that I already love about Truro school is the dedication and support given to staff especially throughout this weird period of Covid.

What you already love about Truro School: The warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere of the pupils, staff and parents and the fantastic facilities. Everyone has been very helpful in helping me find my way around and feel a part of the school in a relatively short space of time.

Hobbies and interests: long afternoons spent in Art Galleries exploring new art works and spending time with my dog and horses!
What you already love about Truro School: Wednesday afternoon activities are brilliant not only because I share my passion for horse riding but also because I love hearing all the students talking about the diverse range of things they do.

Something people might not know about you: People say I’m a Jack of all trades and the master of none, but I did win Gold at the World Duathlon Championships in 2019
