One of our Year 6 classes at Truro School Prep have been putting their German lessons into practice on the playground. They have been learning about traditional German playground games in class, including counting rhymes and the German version of ‘bulldog’, know as Kettenreißen (or Kettensprengen or Kettenbrechen), which translates to “chain breaking” or “chain bursting”.
They used counting rhymes to decide who would be ‘wolf’ and then headed to the playground to put their theory into practice. It was a fantastic way to bring this learning to life and plenty of fun was had by all.
