World Earth Day – 1st Year Assembly

During today’s assembly for 1st and 2nd Year pupils, Rev Helen and 1st Year representatives from the school’s eco committee talked about World Earth Day. They presented their findings on species extinction, highlighting the potential extinction of certain big cat species within the next 10-20 years. They also explained that a ‘food print’ measures the environmental impact of food production and discussed strategies to combat climate change and pledges in honour of World Earth Day.

The teams shared a video created by the eco-committee showcasing some of our School’s efforts to reduce our environmental footprint and achieve net zero status by 2040.

Pupils were also reminded about the Biodiversity Club, in B4, and Gardening Club meetings on Friday lunchtimes – all are welcome.
