Yacht Racing Success for George

GCSE pupil George L has just returned from the RS Aero World Championships in Sweden, where he achieved an impressive eighth place, competing against national teams from Sweden, Estonia, and Italy.

This success follows a busy summer of yacht racing with his local club, including two distance races around the Isles of Scilly and a cross-channel race. Despite his rigorous training schedule for national titles, George has also completed VHF radio training, sea survival training, and powerboat qualifications, all part of his ambition to become a professional sailor.

Looking ahead, George will be balancing National Squad training this winter with his GCSE studies. His ultimate dream is to participate in a transatlantic race in 2026, as well as possibly La Solitaire du Figaro. Congratulations George.
