Our Year 1 pupils made the most of Truro School Prep’s enviable location in Cornwall with their trip to Pendennis Castle, one of the best-surviving examples of a coastal fortress in England.
The visit forms part of Year 1’s topic on Castles and is a fantastic route into their learning about the Tudors. Built by Henry VIII from 1539 to 1545, the children had a fantastic tour around the castle and learnt about its rich history and circular design that allowed all-round fire from guns mounted at several levels.
We would like to thank Pendennis Castle for hosting such an engaging and informative tour and well done to our pupils who were beautifully behaved and enthusiastic throughout the day.
