Year 4 Gear Up for Netball Season

Our Year 4 girls have taken part in an internal fixture afternoon this week in preparation for the netball season that starts next term. The Year 4 girls team will play alongside teams from other year groups, which include both mixed and all-girls squads.

After warming up, our girls prepared for a full game of netball. They learnt where to stand for the start of a match and how to take the first centre pass correctly, ensuring that the ball was caught in the centre third.

During the match the girls played a range of positions, developing their knowledge of where they are allowed to go on court and allowing them to change their opposite player. All the girls played brilliantly; the ball was passed down the court well and by the end of the game they were more confident moving into a space to receive the ball.

The afternoon finished with the highly anticipated squash and cookies; a fitting reward for the excellent camaraderie and confidence shown by all.
