We are proud to have outstanding Forest School provision and facilities at Truro School Nursery, with three distinctive areas including an Enchanted Garden and two woodland areas featuring native trees and plants.
It is taught by a specialist Forest School teacher, Mrs Stableforth, who is also a fully qualified teacher.
Our fabulous environment lends itself to a multitude of stimulating learning experiences so that the children develop skills that augment their indoor classroom activities.
Forest School, unlike other woodland learning experiences, is based on over 30 years of research and best practice from Scandinavia.
Forest School teaching supports, encourages and inspires the individual’s learning process, allowing the children to learn at their own pace by developing curiosity in the world around them, which feeds back into their learning in the classroom.
Truro School Nursery believes passionately in the benefits of Forest School and outdoor learning.
We have two fully qualified and highly skilled Forest School Co-ordinators who through their training are able to bring out the most from the outdoor learning environment.
Our school motto, Esse Quam Videri (to be, rather than to seem to be), captures the essence of our identity and is defined by the 5 C's below. Underpinned by strong Christian principles, we are a caring and inclusive community which values, nurtures and develops each individual.
