Mrs Norfolk took a mixed team of badminton players, consisting of children from Year 5 and Year 6 who attend the after-school badminton club, to Richard Lander School yesterday afternoon.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the badminton festival, which consisted of various fast-paced badminton skill stations, brilliantly organised and run by various sports leaders from Richard Lander School.
Lots of fun was had during the afternoon, culminating in a mini round-robin competition and a rounders competition.

But what did the children think?
We learnt how to play against other teams and how to defend against their methods of play. We also learned to play doubles and learned how to communicate with each other during play effectively, without distracting one another. I felt like we learnt how to stay on our toes and move around the court quickly and effectively. I think we have improved our accuracy during the skill stations part of the festival.
Barney, Year 6
It was very inclusive and really fun. My favourite activity was a badminton target game, where you threw the shuttle into a hoop on the floor to score points for your team. The sports leaders were really helpful.
