Colour Me Profiles

Students from our Sixth Form were joined in The Burrell by guest speaker Fiona Dorman to attend a Colour Me Foundation Workshop.

This interesting session is aimed at assisting students to find strengths and weaknesses in their behaviours as they prepare for university applications and career decisions.

Each student had pre-filled in a series of questions to determine their behavioural traits as well as answering group session questions on the day. The answers formed their individual behavioural colour. This offers each student an interesting and illuminating profile to capture how they do things and how their behaviour interacts with other peoples. Using the information can help to see the areas where they are more confident and comfortable, it can assist in career choices, as it highlights sectors of industry that may suit and also with university interview questions such as –  what are your strengths?

Fiona has collated the profiles of each student, which offer of 56, 000 different combinations, and interestingly Truro School Sixth Form has a vary varied result. Students are represented across the board, within each colour. In educational establishments this can be very rare as students can often feel they have to behave a certain way. This is a very positive outcome for our school, as its shows that students are allowed to express their own behaviours and be who they want to be. We also have many students in the red area, showing high levels of confidence amongst the group.

Students have been conversing amongst their peers to identify their colour and present to the group – some had very interesting results, learning new information about themselves and their cohort.

Thank you to Fiona and Mr Williamson our Head of Sixth Form for leading the session.
